Pan GuCoined as the first man, he was born from the egg of creation (and from chaos) as a human, often depicted with two horns and tusks, and very hairy, early paintings also depict him as a dwarf clad in leaves. An early Daoist creation god, he is credited with creating the sun, moon, and stars, dividing the seas into four, and forming the mountains and valleys. Some other accounts also say that his corpse is all of these things, his blood the sea, his sweat the rivers, his eyes the sun and moon, his body the soil, and Humans, as the parasites living on him. These powers were said to be bestowed onto him by the knowledge of Yin and Yang, and the duality between them and in all things.
